Eagle Walk-Haters Gonna Hate
I got this picture from McHammer on Twitter. I get it....kinda, but it gave me this crazy reaction. I love the pose. And you gotta love an eagle with swagga...but I can't get over the fact that the eagle is walking. Naw! Eagles are supposed to fly. Don't condescend to the haters by walking...even if you are walking away, and doing it with style. Don't act like a chicken with style...You Do YOU! Fly like an eagle, soar above the mess, soar above the drama and soar above the haters. I got five on it, if you weren't down there flossing in front of them, you wouldn't even be able to hear them....they wouldn't be able to bother you.
So here are the Hater Rules:
1. You ain't got nothing to prove to haters. And if you do, you look like the fool "eagle walking." Eagles fly! The best revenge is success. Stop acting a fool and do what you do!
2. If you were focused on your calling (flying), you wouldn't be able to hear the haters. When you do you, they can't get with you....you are on another level. You got the market on being you, NOBODY can do it better. Others may imitate, but they can't duplicate. Don't get distracted!
And since I am on the subject of Haters...
3. The only way to destroy a hater....is to make them your friend. You can't out HATE them, because that ain't you...but you can love the hell right out 'em!

If I was President-Wyclef Jean
All blacks would have reparations-
no segregation,
no segregation,
Feed the nation so there is no famine
Muslims, Jews Christians
Would all hold hands
Would all hold hands
Every week on the beach
Party by the sand
Party by the sand
Word up, take trips on Air Force One
Only to bring homeless with no sneaks the Air Force Ones
Better schools in the hood, better teachers for the classes
makin' money, payin' no taxes
Find the best scientists-tell them "come up with an answer"
I want the cure for AIDS and Cancer.
~Wyclef Jean
I know elections are coming up in less than two weeks in Haiti. You have to wonder what would happen if Wyclef was president. Folk don't like things shaken up to much, I realize. And many times, the old guard just isn't ready to let the new guard take over. Usually when the guard's change it was more to relieve the old guard. I guess the old guard ain't tired yet. Some of them say, "I'll rest when I die," lol.
That isn't happening just in Haiti, that's everywhere-governments, corporations, churches, families. Guess you gotta take the spot that's given you and then blow it up. Bloom where you are planted. I appreciate what Wyclef is doing. Wyclef is doing Wyclef. They won't let him be president, he's having his own Election Day and campaign speeches through his music. He may be effecting more change, by getting into the consciousness of people on a global stage than he could have done...bogged down with the political machine. Power to the people!

Now I'm Convinced Kanye is Crazy
Yep. I said it. I try to hold out and believe the best in people but I am really thinking Kanye got a thing with the devil. As I was reading his tweets where he showcases his inner dialogue, he's trying to figure out which is better to worship the devil with: Droid or Iphone and does Lucifer have skype?!?!? I'm just saying...I think he's into to deep with the devil. Ya'll need to leave him alone.

Kanye West's Runaway
I tried to look at that short film or long video…whatever you want to call it and I could not finish it. Besides the fact that it was over thirty minutes long, the video had too much darkness in it for me. Real talk, some things are straight tools of the devil. It has a lot of symbolism and occultic stuff in that I couldn't identify and demonic lyrics I could…"Demons still visit me" "At the mall there was a seance/Just kids no parents/Then the sky filled with herons/I saw the devil in a Chrysler LeBaron". No thanks.
The story line is that Kanye falls in love with this bird lady. She comes from an explosion of fire and Kanye takes her home. I am guessing she represents the Phoenix bird. The Phoenix is from ancient Egyptian mythology. It is said to live at least five hundred years. It ignites its nest and at its death, from the ashes a new Phoenix is born. The Phoenix symbolizes rebirth, immortality, resurrection and Lucifer (the devil). After an explosion, Kanye emerges from the ashes. Maybe Kanye was saying y'all may talk about me, say I'm crazy but Ima rise again.
Christians could get it twisted or even look for a positive message. They could say it's like Christ who gives us the power to rise again, but in this instance this is purely of the occult and devil. I'm gonna be honest, I didn't even finish the video. I only got through the first 8 minutes and fast forwarded to the end. There are some things I know not to fool with, and that video is one of them.
There is some positive hip hop out there and there are some good things but you have to also be on your guard. Kanye's claim to fame was "Jesus Walks." Christians everywhere were jumping on the Kanye wagon. Some even called him a gospel rapper, (which he wasn't). Even if he has songs with a positive messages, you can't blindly stay with people. When they turn left…YOU GOTTA STAY RIGHT.
The Bible says, "But test everything. Keep what is good, and stay away from everything that is evil." 1 Thess. 5:21-22. I'm just saying….
The Church and Hip Hop
Hip hop has gotten a bad rep, especially in the church. "It's sinful! Stay away!" Some yell from the doors of the church, or from their hiding place in the pew, unwilling to get "world" on them. (So many of them got "world" IN them, it doesn't really matter now does it?)
Anyway, this is a place where I want to engage culture, school and get schooled; teach and be taught. There are some good things in our culture that even the church could learn from. Jesus said the children of the world are wiser than the sons of the light, in dealing with their generation, (Luke 16:8). It would make sense that we get learn a little something.
Jesus was the best example when He came all up in our culture. It would have been easier to yell from heaven, or to keep sending letters and words…but instead he BECAME THE WORD and lived in the HOOD! Gotta love that. He got flesh on His bones. He got the earth between His toes and under His fingernails. Jesus got down and dirty with humanity… The even better news is that He didn't leave us that way. He offered living water to clean us, if we wanted it.
That's what I'm doing. I'm not saying I am the foremost authority on hip hop…not at all (not even a lil bit)….but HOPE…I got that on LOCK! I know what it's like to not have and want, I know what is like to have and lose, I know what it's like to have good sense and not use it, to know better but not do better…and when it should have been HOPELESS….God gave me another chance, He gave me HOPE to press through, and to press on. I got HOPE for days.
…So I was thinking we could meet somewhere in the middle. You know, at the crossroads…hope and hip hop could meet.
