Kanye West's Runaway

I tried to look at that short film or long video…whatever you want to call it and I could not finish it.  Besides the fact that it was over thirty minutes long, the video had too much darkness in it for me.  Real talk, some things are straight tools of the devil.  It has a lot of symbolism and occultic stuff in that I couldn't identify and demonic lyrics I could…"Demons still visit me"    "At the mall there was a seance/Just kids no parents/Then the sky filled with herons/I saw the devil in a Chrysler LeBaron".   No thanks.

The story line is that Kanye falls in love with this bird lady. She comes from an explosion of fire and Kanye takes her home.  I am guessing she represents the Phoenix bird.  The Phoenix is from ancient Egyptian mythology.  It is said to live at least five hundred years.  It ignites its nest and at its death, from the ashes a new Phoenix is born.  The Phoenix symbolizes rebirth, immortality, resurrection and Lucifer (the devil).  After an explosion, Kanye emerges from the ashes. Maybe Kanye was saying y'all may talk about me, say I'm crazy but Ima rise again.

Christians could get it twisted or even look for a positive message.  They could say it's like Christ who gives us the power to rise again,  but in this instance this is purely of the occult and devil.  I'm gonna be honest, I didn't even finish the video.  I only got through the first 8 minutes and fast forwarded to the end.  There are some things I know not to fool with, and that video is one of them.

There is some positive hip hop out there and there are some good things but you have to also be on your guard.  Kanye's claim to fame was "Jesus Walks."  Christians everywhere were jumping on the Kanye wagon.  Some even called him a gospel rapper, (which he wasn't).  Even if he has songs with a positive messages, you can't blindly stay with people.  When they turn left…YOU GOTTA STAY RIGHT.

The Bible says, "But test everything. Keep what is good, and stay away from everything that is evil."  1 Thess. 5:21-22.   I'm just saying….
